THANKSGIVING DAY ESO

"Thanksgiving day" is a national holiday with religious significance in The United States, this year it was celebrated on Thursday, November 23rd.

In our lessons with Lorena,we watched some videos about this traditional festivity and then, the students from ESO  decorated the corridors with some posters where they wrote their messages giving thanks to their families, friends, God, teachers…

THANKSGIVING DAY

Last Thursday we celebrated Thanksgiving Day (November 23)
In America it´s traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pumpkin pie... and vegetables.

During that week in class children knew the story about this day and learned new vocabulary with games like a bingo. Also they made a turkey manual art.

Activities in ESO

NON SMOKING

This week, in our English lesson with Lorena, we performed a little scene about dangers of smoking. In this performance, we had to explain how smoking harms people and their environment. All the groups did very well. My colleagues and I represented a couple in which the woman was pregnant, she asked her husband to stop smoking, and finally he becomes sick because of tobacco

HALLOWEEN

HALLOWEEN

On Tuesday, 31st October, La Inmaculada school celebrated the terrifying Halloween.

We, the students from 4th year of ESO, helped the teachers in some activities that they prepared for school children. In total there were four workshops: face painting, games, cooking and the horror passage. They had a lot of fun but they were a little scared too.

We took part in two activities: the horror passage and cooking.

Thanks for trusting us. It was a pleasure to participate.

Poemween

POEMWEEN

Short and rhyme poems manage to attract the attention of children. This  time is used to teach them rhyming to memorize and understand, why not, a set of values.
Poetry has multiple benefits: children are attracted to it for its musicality and rhythm, nemory exercises, new vocabulary is acquired, it improves oral expression, sensitivity work, imagination...

So,  this year  to celebrate the holiday of Halloween, all students from the first year of ESO  designed an activity which they called POEMWEEN that manages to attract the attention of students creating short, rhyming poems in English with vocabulary of  Halloween. Then, they performed their poems.
